Under the direction of Business Applications, this position is accountable for designing, developing and deploying telecommunications VoIP and WEB UI applications within the LAMP environment using Linux, Apache, MySQL, Perl and Java. This position will be involved with the entire software development lifecycle and must have an expert understanding of VoIP and LAMP application programming.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
� Design WEB and Mobile VoIP applications within the Apache, Oracle, MySQL, Asterisk, and FreeSWITCH environments.
� Design and code applications to using languages including, but not limited to: Java, Perl, PHP, VXML, and other scripting languages.
� Work closely with management and engineering teams to rapidly design and iterativly develop web enabled telecommunications applications.
� Understand and accurately build web-based Asterisk and FreeSWITCH open source telephony applications based on different types and levels of documentation.
� Quickly design HTML prototypes and visual interfaces.
� Implement and integrate user-interfaces with complex information and functionality while making the user experience easy and usable.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
A Bachelor's degree in software UI design, communications, or media or comparable work experience (3 years' minimum design + 3 years web and telecommunications experience) and 3+ years holding a senior developer position at a VoIP telecommunications company.
Experience with our environment: RedHat 3,4, 5; CentOS 5.4, 5.5 apache - 2.2.x , MySQL - 5.1.x, Perl - 5.10.x, nagios - 2.9.x, sendmail - 8.x, Asterisk - 1.4.21.x, FreeSwitch 1.0 CVS and subversion code repository servers.
3+ years holding a senior developer position at a VoIP telecommunications company. A strong foundation in visual/interface design, graphics and UI design with a good eye for design. Experience in web site layout design for high-volume consumer facing social networking telecommunications transactional or ecommerce oriented sites. Direct hands on experience and expert skills with Java, JavaScript, XML, VXML, Perl, PHP, HTML, CSS, DHTML, XHTML, and AJAX. Strong understanding and practical work experience in social networking web site User Interface design, including site information architecture, content organization, page flows, Interaction Design, and navigation schemes.
